Therapy Services Facilitator for Special Services
SUMMARY:??

Reports to: Executive Director of Special Services
Job Goal: Under occasional supervision, acts as a liaison and advocate for students with disabilities within the school setting. Serve as a special education liaison for assigned schools. Actively support the therapy services professionals to ensure that a strong commitment to improving academic and social achievement of students with disabilities is evident through therapy services. Collaborates with appropriate individuals to promote the educational needs of students with disabilities through therapy services are appropriately addressed in compliance with Williamsburg County School District procedures as well as applicable federal and state laws.
Qualifications:
- Must have Master’s degree in the field of related therapy field; Valid South Carolina certificate
- Must be licensed by the SC Labor and Licensing Board
- Minimum of 8 years' experience as a licensed therapist
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:?
- Facilitate the use of evidence-based therapy and instructional curriculums and formative assessment processes align across levels and with district and state standards.
- Assist in establishing district-wide procedural guidance around provision of therapy services delivery.
- Providing on-going feedback to the district’s special education therapy team.
- Training and monitoring of therapist and therapy assistants within the schools
- Provides support for cohesive student transition between levels and grades through planning meetings and clarity of process.
- Assist in setting, implementing, and monitoring district-wide goals for Special Services Therapy and overall programming.
- Assist special education therapy team with creating and problem-solving schedules and assignments
- Determining the on-going needs of therapist and implementing professional development to address needs.
- Support for paraprofessionals with the identification of their role and responsibilities and responding to their concerns in a professional manner
- Identifying and recommending resources to therapy team members.
- Act as member to facilitate district’s child find search to locate, identify students with a disability and scheduling Child Find Clinics.
- Facilitate and support implementation of therapy services for students receiving homebased / homebound instruction and Extended School Year (ESY) services.
- Attend building level IEP meetings to assist building level administrators and special education teachers in resolving issues and ensure quality delivery of special education therapy services.
Therapy Services Facilitator for Special Services part 2
- Provide technical assistance to therapists and special education classroom teachers in developing appropriate IEP’s, structuring classrooms and developing behavior management plans.
- Observe therapist and special education teachers and students to provide feedback to teams and leadership.
- Team with support specialists, teachers, and other school personnel in the delivery of therapy services; plan, conduct, and assist in staff development activities.
- Support the school program, cooperate with others to accomplish its goals, coordinate program services with other student services and maintain records in accordance with established rules, regulations and ethical standards.
- Assist with identification and implementation of best therapy practices.
- Ensure therapists completes records for third party reimbursement accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Ensures therapists correctly completes and submit all forms as required under Medicaid and District guidelines.
- Correctly completes and submits all forms as required under Medicaid reimbursement for therapy services and evaluations completed by Therapy Services Facilitator.???
- Coordinate complaint investigations as assigned.
- Willingly accepts and performs other duties as determined by the?Executive Director of Special Services.?
