Williamsburg County School District is currently seeking substitute teachers. Substitutes must have experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting, and be frequently available to work on an as needed basis. Short-term substitutes will work less than 30 hours per week. A favorable background/SLED check is required. Substitutes who hold South Carolina teacher certification are encouraged to apply.
Substitutes who possess a high school diploma and meet the minimum requirements of the paraprofessional exam administered in Adult Education building can be considered for the position.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
- Reviews with the principal, department head, or team leader all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
- Adheres to the lesson outlined and described in the Substitute Teacher’s Guide as prepared by the absent teacher.
- Consults as appropriate, with the building principal, department head, or team leader, before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified by the district.
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior at all times during the school day.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures as outlined by the district.
